Laptop Security Blog Comment Policy
We appreciate comments that are left on the Laptop Security Blog and welcome the increased interaction that forms from them. We have put together this comment policy in the aims of being transparent about how comments appear on this site. The general blog comment policy:
- We love comments and welcome you to share your ideas with us
- We delete spam automatically
- Comments may be deleted only if they violate the comment policy (see below)
- Leaving links is encouraged, if relevant to the post. We encourage you to leave your own website in the URL field.
- All comments are moderated temporarily in order to uphold this comment policy
Q: Do you censor comments before they appear on the site?
Comments on this site are never censored based on political or ideological points of view. We only delete those comments that are abusive, off-topic, use excessive foul language, include ad hominem attacks or are considered spam.
Q: I posted a comment but it has not appeared on the site
We moderate all comments posted on the blog to ensure comments are on-topic, non-abusive and do not include outrageous attacks. Comments are typically moderated several times per day. If you think you posted a comment that has not appeared, email us.
Q: None of my comments ever appear on the site
If you have attempted to leave comments repeatedly that we deem offensive, off-topic or in any way violate our comment policy, we may block your attempts to comment in the future.
Q: What is an off-topic comment?
Comments that are considered off-topic may be deleted. This type of comment likely has nothing to do with the post and will not add value to the conversation. Criticisms, questions or rebuttals are considered on-topic and will be approved. In some cases, this type of comment is better suited for a different post or to be sent by email.
If you have a question about Absolute Software, for example, this question is better addressed by contacting them. Comments left on posts that are off-topic, but important, will be forwarded by email to someone to help you better.
