The Federal Government’s OnGuard Online website has, in addition to many resources, some interesting quizzes. Mission: Laptop Security and ID Theft Faceoff! are two examples.

Mission: Laptop Security is set up more like a role-playing quiz. You are “Agent Smith” and, because you messed up on your last mission, you are now being watched. Your mission: pick up a laptop and bring it back to HQ. You will be asked several questions along the way as part of your surveillance.

The questions involve how to manage passwords, where to store your laptop in a hotel, going through airport security, keeping a watch on your laptop in public areas, and what to do with your laptop if you leave your car. If you can complete your mission, you’ll be welcomed back to the force.

Quizzes such like these may seem very simple with very obvious answers, but the recent slew of data thefts as a result of employee mismanagement of laptops attests to the need for simple, basic laptop security training.
