Scenario: Absolute launched its investigation after a town council reported a laptop theft. It was quickly determined that the laptop’s unauthorized user was employed by the council, and [of no coincidence] oversaw its IT department. Absolute passed this information onto police, who searched the employee’s residence. The laptop was seized, along with several other items belonging to the council – enough stolen property for the police to fill an entire evidence room. With ample proof that the employee had been stealing from council for quite some time, he was promptly arrested. The laptop has since been returned to its rightful owner.
